For your information please. There should be free and fair elections of Masjid Committee every four years and all donors over $500.00 should be made eligible for elections to end vested interests and misuse of funds etc. so common now. The Masjid should function as community centres for the Muslims and not as PUJA PAT Centres only. The Imams don't project Quranic Guidance on all matters of life, problems and solutions deliberately to keep us backward and non knowledgeable about Allah's Guidance. Hence make sure your donation goes only to those who project Quranic Guidance and not to those who exploit Islam to earn money. Thanks.

Please never mind. I wasn`t offended but yes, little bit upset. But now its ok.
Perhaps it may be a surprise for you to know that religion in the West is a big business. Most of the religious places in North America are in private hands. An individual buy an industrial unit or a big restaurant at whooping price. Convert it into the religious place and then go on asking donation for it. They delay even Salaats for this on Jumma, Eids or Tarravihs. This asking for donations never ends. Even if the price of the place is fully paid the asking for donation continues in the name of some or the other so called `Projects.` You`ll find this everywhere in every mosque. There is a joke on this which is being circulated on internet for quite sometime.
A wealthy newcomer Muslim comes to Toronto. On a Friday prayer in the mosque he come across an old timer Canadian of around 50 who has been staying in Canada for more than 30 years. The newcomer asks old timer that he wants to start a business. The old timer replies,"Start a religious place."
NC: What? I said I want to start a 'Business.'
OT: That's right. I said the same. Today, religion in North America is the biggest business. There is no recession in this business.
This brief conversation in itself tells the reality. Since almost majority of mosques are 'Owned' by private persons they are NOT obliged to give any accounts to anyone except the Canadian Revenue Agency (CRA).
The best way is NOT to donate.
Yes, I agree. one shouldn't generalise the matter. As for temper of a person it varies from person to person, right?
If you don't mind my giving you some advice. Never call anyone Munafiq or Kaafir. Never take a role of a Judge upon yourself. Leave it to Allah (swt) because it is reserved for him and him alone.
As for Br. Qasim Abbas who also lives in Toronto let me tell you one thing. He is a very learned person and equally nice gentleman. I know him personally for many years. He writes a religious column in a Gujarati weekly newspaper 'Swadesh' and he writes well. Yes, he is against taveez, tutkas, black magics, blind faith, visiting durgahs and asking mannats , urs, snadals etc. Many don't agree with him. I have seen people calling him 'Wahabi.' I myself visit durgahs of saints like Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti of Ajmer and other places too. But it's one's own choice. That's why I say, " Lakum di nakum wala yadeen" (Be your deen with you and mine with me).
We may have difference of opinions on a matter. It is always healthy to discuss. One shouldn't insist other to follow. Leave it to Allah(swt) to provide hidaya.

Oh no! Oops! I am so sorry for the confusion. My reply was to Br. Qassim
(see below) who very rudely uttered the most rude words for Muslims, which
can never be used by any Muslim: He said: "Muslims are corrupt, will remain
as worst creatures and biggest sinners--".
Obviously, he is showing his hatred of Muslims, and only the non-Muslim
like Ismaili Zina khan and her gang members would fall to this length of abuses.
If at all he finds any kind of wrong doings by the Masjid Admi. he should
write a letter to them or ask for a consultation meeting.
Also he must have a clear evidence of corruption and frauds of money.
Without it he should not accuse any one especially the Muslim Brothers.
If you people have clear evidence then yu are allowed to sue them
or the easiest way to ask them to take an Oath on the Quran and speak
the truth, or accept it and amend their ways, as Allah is most gracious
and forgiver. But to publish such scandals of other Muslims is harram,
you are right it is internal matter but then he is publicly abusing them
through this email system, which is as bad as going through the other
Media system.
If such corruption happening in India then I can believe as due to the
poverty people forget the honesty and the rules of haraam and wrong doings.
But I don't think in the Western countries is the same issue, and people
are more smarter to accept such corruption, but would deal with it right
away in right manners of Messenger Muhammad SAWS.
Since I converted to Islam I have seen the yearly accounts of main Masjids
given to every members. So he can demand the yearly accounts instead
of going around wildly like in the following.
By the way, before he accuses Muslims he should first of all study the
corrupted system of Agakhan who is minting billions from his followers,
and moreover has kept them away from Allah and Islam that is the
biggest tragedy, and the biggest sin of corruption, fraud of finance and religion.
However, thank you for your calm explanation. I too am a Senior but
I cannot tolerate if any one abuses or accuses Muslims for anything
without solid evidence. Especially in such manners that can only come
from the non-Muslims who are trying hard to eliminate Islam.
I hope you would have corrected him for his following out burst.

Thanks for your compliments of calling me a 'Non-Muslim Kufar.' You are, perhaps, the First Muslim woman to call me that way. Thanks again. Brother Qasim Abbas will tel you who I am? Oh, yes, thanks again for acquiring the role of a Fatwa Issuer.
As for presenting accounts by masjid managements to donors and the corrupt practices followed by them you better read properly the messages on this forum by Br. Qasim Abbas, Moulvi Saeed and Sadruddin who are regularly writing on this subject for the past many years. In fact they are the crusaders and I, sometime support them because I know very well that these gentlemen are having pure and undiluted intention for the good of the community. Hats off to them.
As for me hundreds in Toronto and places around it know me well that I am a Sr. Journalist for more than 35 years. MY columns appeeared regularly in Gujarati and Hindi languages. I never indulge into any masjid affairs. Many friends at Jumma prayers ask me to 'Expose' masjid managements which I have, so far declined. This is because I consider this as 'Internal' matter' of Muslims which should not be brought into public domain. If this is our community problem the solution too has to come from within.
I have been attending a masjid regularly for Jumma, Eid and Tarravih prayers for many years. I was also one of the donors. I have never seen the management presenting any accounts of income and expenditure showing the balance sheet. More or less same is the situation in other mosques. I don't know where you are living. Recently 'Toronto Star' a prominent and well read daily newspaper published form Toronto published a story of mismanagement of funds at a prominent mosque in Mississauga.
Gulsha, I am a senior citizen. Let me tell one thing frankly. I am not at all offended by your 'Fatwa' and bad temperament. Everyone has some qualities. Yes, being a senior I would certainly like to advise you to keep cool and control your language when you are participating in a public forum on internet.

Please read the honest and thought provoking comments of an Alim, Qasim Abbas against commercialization of Islam by vested interests. Our Masjid Imams and Alims don't warn us about such 'magic shows' Tawaiz, Ganday, special DUA business to mislead us as the Imams and Alims are also involved and have adopted Islam as money earning business in violation of Quran. These commercial Imams before Juma prayers unnecessarily drag on worn-out weak and unauthentic Hadiths, tales and stories, sayings and traditions of various Imams, Buzrugs, saints etc. instead of spreading the Message of Allah on all matters of life, problems and solutions. They always make long speech to confuse and deviate us and make a long DUA after Namaz as if they are a WASILA to Allah. The Masajid Managements are also involved as they make money in the name of Islam and there are hundreds of court cases and complaints about misuse of donors' money.
The duty of IMAM is to lead the prayers only and not to make DUA for us after Namaz as they themselves are equally accountable before Allah like us. They can not act as middle men to Allah which is a SHIRK. Please make your own DUA to Allah directly after Namaz as Allah listens to you directly as the duty of Imam is to lead the prayers only as in Arabia. Also ask these commercial Imams to cut short their time wasting long KHITABS/speeches. And instead of one Azan, one Khitab and one short Arabic Qutba, the Desi Masajid make two Azans, two long Khitabs and two long Arabic Qutbas which is nothing but over-acting and creating excesses with our simple Deen. They should start Juma Namaz promptly as only Namaz is Farz/Fard not the time wasting Khitabs etc as Friday/Juma is not a holiday in the west. If the Management does not listen to this just request, then don't donate. Thanks.

These magic acts are being performed since last few years in day light by so called learned Allama, Doctor, who is self-appointed religious scholar, research scholar, Quran commentator, Hadith expert, teacher of character, prominent lecturer (khateeb), journalist, and kind-hearted(?) religious authority. READ ALL THREE ATTACHMENTS AND THINK ABOUT CLAIMS - SUCH CLAIMS NEVER MADE BY ANY MESSENGER OF ALLAH AND ANY AULIYAH ALLAH IN PAST.
Promotion and propagation of these bogus stuff has become weekly routine since last few years – not in one but in ore than one publication of North America circulated all over North America. Let us not keep on playing bands about 'misguided and confused by the Imams',

Yes, it is possible in the third world Countries like India where people are venerable
and illiterates and tend to follow one man's word like under hypnotism.
If he says worship the dead Pir or Sheikh in the grave and ask his help, they will
follow him. Can't they use their own brains to see the truth and the lies?
Like some illiterates believed there is a Prophet after Prophet-Messenger
Muhammad SAWS, on one man's evil word, but it is the people's fault to follow
the evil.
Like we were hypnotized by the Agakhan and his word was taken as god's
word and followed him as god as per his order, and paid him thousands for
every anti-Islamic Hindu religious rituals performed.
Although, the followers are the most advanced, and highly educated, yet
following him blindly. In the eyes of the law he is a criminal but it is his job like
Iblis to misguide human beings, but it is the people's fault to follow him.
Muslims are warned about the time of an era of anti-Christ/anti-Islam and the
appearance of Dajjaal who will do anything to misguide people.
The people with full faith in Allah and HIS Messenger will not be deceived
by him.
The root cause of such ignorance is that people have not accepted Allah the
One Creator GOD and HIS word-Quran and so the Shaytan takes over and

In this century of technology and Computers no body can blame the Imams for
misguiding, as one can access the true Islamic education by the click of a

languages.
Those who are teaching the Arabic language are doing the most wonderful
job. I would give millions to learn to speak Arabic language.
So let us not blame Imams and Sheikhs.
Though, one reality is that you ask any Muslim illiterate or educated he/she will
give you the full true information of Islam.
I wonder how did they know all that? By reading, or by the speeches of Imams?
So let us not blame such and undermine the power of Muslims and their
understanding of Islam.
Blame only those who are deviating from the original Islam.
Let us make this a closing argument and spend time in other things and help
Muslims who are suffering, and spend time in giving the original Islam to those
who are deviating and to those non-Muslims.
Br. Zakir Naik and many more are busy in Dawah work so let us follow them
and stop moaning and groaning and correct those in person who are doing it
wrong and give dawah to change..
There are thousands of Western non-Muslims are accepting Islam, and so we
will need more Masjids to accommodate them, so let us not stop the good work.

So far I haven't found one unauthentic Hadith spoken by the Imams and lecturers.
Yes, it is possible in the third world Countries like India where people are venerable
and illiterates and tend to follow one man's word like under hypnotism.
If he says worship the dead Pir or Sheikh in the grave and ask his help, they will
follow him. Can't they use their own brains to see the truth and the lies?
Like some illiterates believed there is a Prophet after Prophet-Messenger
Muhammad SAWS, on one man's evil word, but it is the people's fault to follow
the evil.
Like we were hypnotized by the Agakhan and his word was taken as god's
word and followed him as god as per his order, and paid him thousands for
every anti-Islamic Hindu religious rituals performed.
Although, the followers are the most advanced, and highly educated, yet
following him blindly. In the eyes of the law he is a criminal but it is his job like
Iblis to misguide human beings, but it is the people's fault to follow him.
Muslims are warned about the time of an era of anti-Christ/anti-Islam and the
appearance of Dajjaal who will do anything to misguide people.
The people with full faith in Allah and HIS Messenger will not be deceived
by him.
The root cause of such ignorance is that people have not accepted Allah the
One Creator GOD and HIS word-Quran and so the Shaytan takes over and
misguides.
In this century of technology and Computers no body can blame the Imams for
misguiding, as one can access the true Islamic education by the click of a
finger.
Today we see every rich, poor, uneducated young old walking around with
the Cell Phones in their hands, if one knows how to use the modern advanced
technology as such but one cannot work out what is the truth of GOD and the
lies of such man who practices financial fraud, and running fraudulent religion

The crux of the matter is due to lack of Quranic knowledge we Ajmi Muslims are fully exploited and misguided by the vested interests, commercial Alims, commercial Imams through long unending lectures with weak and unauthentic Hadiths to confuse us. The Imams never touch the Quranic Guidance on all life matters, problems and solutions deliberately to keep us in the dark to make us dependent on them like Pope and Bishops, Gurus and Pundits and Monks. Actually Allah has prohibited preisthood (57:27) as it results in exploitation and misguidance. Allah asks us to follow only those Alims, Imams, scholars who never ask for payment (36:21).
The only remedy is that we and our elder children should read the translation of Quran in our own language to understand the Guidance/Directives (Muhikmath) of Allah (3:7) for which there is no bar from Allah. The basic aim of Allah is to guide the erring and deviated humanity towards HIS RIGHT PATH and certainly not to make us 'duplicate' Arabs to follow the Arabs and their fighting history. Allah has commanded us to follow Allah and the Prophet only (8:20, 46). Hence the Islamic history ends here and we are not bound to follow the Arab history or become Arabic agents whether they like us or not.
But our Mullahs have made Arabic a Holy Language as if Allah is only Arabic knowing. Whereas Arabic is the common language of entire Arabic Muslims, non Muslims, Christians and Jews and contains good and bad words, songs and dances and films also. The Mullahs are exploiting the Arabic language to earn money through commercialising Imamath, teaching of Quran through Tilawath, Hifz, Qirath, preaching and projection of Islam by commercial Alims, Maulanas, Muftis, Mujtahids, Moulvis, religious speakers, Naat and Nasheed Khwans. This is totally prohibited by Allah to our Prophet and others also as it is a Fi Sabil Illah and voluntary work to earn the Blessing of Allah. Please read 2:41-42,159,174-175/6:90 /9:34/12:104/16:95/25:57. Hence avoid these commercial Imams and Mullahs but if they adopt some other means of livelihood we should appreciate them provided they preach Quran and its directives and such authentic Hadiths only which are in conformity with the Quran as the word of God is unchangeable (18:27/33:62).
Hence we should resist and avoid being deviated by these commercial Mullahs who build Masjids and Madressahs to collect donations for misuse by falsely promising Jannah etc. In the West to obtain permission for building of Masajid/Madressahs to corner Islam for Puja Pat only, they submit wrong and false declaration of a community centre being built.They don't even keep a Mufti due to their own exposure of wrong doings There should be regular and open elections of office bearers of the Masajid Commiittee every three years and donors of $250 and above should be made members. There should be open audit and legal action should be taken for any misuse of funds. The Madressahs should be upgraded to schools as Islam gives priority to education/Iqra (96:1-5).

Here is the root problem. We Muslims have forgotten Quran's teaching. We don't want to learn what Quran says to us, which has been revealed and addressed directly to us as "O Believers, O Mankind, O Children of Adam, O My Servants, O People of the Book etc. etc.". We only want to recite the Quran like parrot. We don't want to understand what Quran says to us, we human being. Look what the Last Messenger P.B.U.H.) will complain for us i.e. we his Ummah:

YUSUFALI: Then the Messenger will say: "O my Lord! Truly my people took this Qur'an for just foolish nonsense."
PICKTHAL: And the messenger saith: O my Lord! Lo! mine own folk make this Qur'an of no account.
SHAKIR: And the Messenger cried out: O my Lord! surely my people have treated this Quran as a forsaken thing.
Since we don't want to take trouble to learn what Quran says, these corrupt Imams and Masjids' so called owners are cashing on us. They give false promise of Jannat to these ignorant Muslims that "donate to Masjids and Allah will build houses for you in Jannat." They don't tell them that whether you will go to Jannat or not despite your houses will be in Jannat, because these corrupt imams themselves don't know whether they themselves will go to Jannat or Jahannam.
Wake up, Muslims and learn Quran, which is FARZ i.e. obligatory on you, since Allah has said in Quran time and again that understand it (54:17), think, mediate and ponder over its Verses (38:29), obey and follow it (6:155), ask others to follow it (3:104) and spread its message to others (5;67).
Unless and until Muslims do not wake up, these corrupt Imams will exploit Islam and will live luxurious life through donations from ignorant Muslims, who are parting with their hard earned (or may be haraam) income and putting in bowls of these corrupt Imams in greed of getting certificate for Jannat in Duniya.
See attachments how these corrupt people are using evil methods i.e. "by hook or crook" to snatch the money in the name of Masjids by selling bricks, walls, Musallahs and Minarates of Masjids, by false promises of Jannah and telling lies.

If
I disagree with some of the details below. It is up to the
people to donate if they want to for the Masjids, or anything
else.
There is nothing wrong if the 'Dua' is made by the Imams
at the congregational gatherings. If it is too long for some
who are in the Masjids from jobs, they can always request
the Imams to shorten it. As to keep the comfort of others
is true islam. The duas made by Imams are general for the
whole ummah and we can make our own personal at any
time we want.
In fact the reason of certain disputes is because we the
Muslims have deviated from the Sunnah of Rasool SAWS.
Majority of the Muslims and we the converts have put an
end and a full stop after the Messenger Muhammad SAWS
and follow only his teachings. There is no other Imam/teacher
after him to give us any new practices. So let us not blame
only the Imams but ourselves also.
Allah has given us the Book/Quran in one hand and the
Sunnah in the other to follow so we cannot go astray.
Let us correct those who are changing or ignoring the
Sunnah.
May Allah bless all the Muslims as at least they have accepted
Islam, Allah, Quran and Messenger Muhammad SAWS.
Everything else can be corrected easily, if we have the
knowledge of the tradition of the Rasool SAWS.
It was difficult for us the Ismailis to convert as we had no
idea of Allah and the Quran, but with Allah's Grace we now
know the true original Islam.

Please read the honest views expressed by a good Alim, Qasim Abbas on the craze of Masjid building activities, misuse of donation funds and wasting public money on arranging show piece Milad Un Nabi functions and inviting commercial Maulanas/Naat /Nasheed Khwans from abroad instead of inviting local speakers. Miladun Nabi is not celebrated in Arabia but we believe in what our Mullah say.
Masjid building has become a good commercial business in the West so much so there are many court cases by the parties involved and they can not decide even MOON sightings. Their professional Imams exploit our Deen to the full extent to keep us divided, deviated and religiously backward by playing with the religious sentiments of our Ajmi Muslims. They give more importance to Puja Pat rather than the entire Quranic Guidance/Muhikmath on all life matters. A former Pop Singer turned Mullah/Nasheed Khwan, Junaid Jamshed has become a millionaire by exploiting Islam and his LOOT FEE is $10.000/- per event with TA/DA and hotel expenses seperately.
Due to exploitation of Islam, we have become crazy in religious matters and rituals and our Ajmi Muslims due to lack of Quranic knowledge perform numerous Hajj and Umras for themselves and for their relatives, parents, dead or alive. This is entirely against the concept of Hajj which is Fard only on the living ones subject to affordabilty and Halal income and free from any debt or any other responsibilty. Our Prophet performed Hajj only once to create an example for others not to indulge in excesses. But we don't care as we beleive more in what our exploiting Mullah say not Quran as we lack its knowledge and understanding. We also indulge in mass Qurbani after Eid Prayers not practiced in Arabia as Qurbani is linked with Hajj performance only.
Please read Quranic translation in your own language to understand Islam to avoid misguidance and deviations and exploitation by vested interests. The duty of Imam is to lead prayers only and not DUA which is a personal matter between Allah and the humans. Thanks.

I disagree with some of the details below. It is up to the
people to donate if they want to for the Masjids, or anything
else.
There is nothing wrong if the 'Dua' is made by the Imams
at the congregational gatherings. If it is too long for some
who are in the Masjids from jobs, they can always request
the Imams to shorten it. As to keep the comfort of others
is true islam. The duas made by Imams are general for the
whole ummah and we can make our own personal at any
time we want.
In fact the reason of certain disputes is because we the
Muslims have deviated from the Sunnah of Rasool SAWS.
Majority of the Muslims and we the converts have put an
end and a full stop after the Messenger Muhammad SAWS
and follow only his teachings. There is no other Imam/teacher
after him to give us any new practices. So let us not blame
only the Imams but ourselves also.
Allah has given us the Book/Quran in one hand and the
Sunnah in the other to follow so we cannot go astray.
Let us correct those who are changing or ignoring the
Sunnah.
May Allah bless all the Muslims as at least they have accepted
Islam, Allah, Quran and Messenger Muhammad SAWS.
Everything else can be corrected easily, if we have the
knowledge of the tradition of the Rasool SAWS.
It was difficult for us the Ismailis to convert as we had no
idea of Allah and the Quran, but with Allah's Grace we now
know the true original Islam.

Please read the honest views expressed by a good Alim, Qasim Abbas on the craze of Masjid building activities, misuse of donation funds and wasting public money on arranging show piece Milad Un Nabi functions and inviting commercial Maulanas/Naat /Nasheed Khwans from abroad instead of inviting local speakers. Miladun Nabi is not celebrated in Arabia but we believe in what our Mullah say.
Masjid building has become a good commercial business in the West so much so there are many court cases by the parties involved and they can not decide even MOON sightings. Their professional Imams exploit our Deen to the full extent to keep us divided, deviated and religiously backward by playing with the religious sentiments of our Ajmi Muslims. They give more importance to Puja Pat rather than the entire Quranic Guidance/Muhikmath on all life matters. A former Pop Singer turned Mullah/Nasheed Khwan, Junaid Jamshed has become a millionaire by exploiting Islam and his LOOT FEE is $10.000/- per event with TA/DA and hotel expenses seperately.
Due to exploitation of Islam, we have become crazy in religious matters and rituals and our Ajmi Muslims due to lack of Quranic knowledge perform numerous Hajj and Umras for themselves and for their relatives, parents, dead or alive. This is entirely against the concept of Hajj which is Fard only on the living ones subject to affordabilty and Halal income and free from any debt or any other responsibilty. Our Prophet performed Hajj only once to create an example for others not to indulge in excesses. But we don't care as we beleive more in what our exploiting Mullah say not Quran as we lack its knowledge and understanding. We also indulge in mass Qurbani after Eid Prayers not practiced in Arabia as Qurbani is linked with Hajj performance only.
Please read Quranic translation in your own language to understand Islam to avoid misguidance and deviations and exploitation by vested interests. The duty of Imam is to lead prayers only and not DUA which is a personal matter between Allah and the humans. Thanks.
