Rawalpindi Islamabad Union of Journalists Elections held on 14 september Saturday in the premises of National Press Club Islamabad.  There were two Panel in the contest, Progressive Panel Lead By Afzal Butt and Democratic Panel Lead by Ashfaq Sajid under the umbrella of President PFUJ Pervez Shaukat. Among 1320 voter 820 votes were polled for the Post of 1 President, 2 Vice Presidents, 1 Genral Secertary and 1 Treasure 2 Joint Secertary, 10 Governing Body Members and 53 Delegates.

Progressive Panel Lead by Afzal Butt clean sweeped on all 70 seats with heavy margin and Pervez Shaukat faced defeat in his home as he was planning to contest PFUJ election again.
