Life threat from a journalist on my article

I totally agree…

No Pakistani can tolerate his/her country to be ridiculed under any pretext, flimsy or otherwise. But that certainly does not mean that we should resort to personal threats .

I have not read the article under discussion [can't seem to find it on the net] , but I must say the title "Stupidity on Ideology of Pakistan" does appear offensive and rude. In his effort to make a screaming headline, the writer has gone overboard and ended up with a headline that sounds decidedly juvenile.  So amateurish that any sensible reader would prefer to give the article a miss…!!

Perhaps both sides would have been better off if they had used more measured terms, the first one in framing  a title for his article , and the second in objecting to the contents of the article.

We have started forgetting that our religion -- as well as our social customs --  direct us to be polite and congenial at all times, and to put forward our views in as courteous a manner as possible. That is the mark of a true Muslim, and a true Pakistani.

Those who take pride in being ill-mannered and uncouth are neither good Muslims, nor good Pakistanis… Nor even good human beings…

Pakistan needs to toughen punishment in its laws dealing with Pakistan Independence Movement and the independence and integrity of Pakistan.

While threats should not be condoned, nor should be the excuse that Pakistan, its history and its people are ridiculed under the guise of research or opinion.

I don't approve personal threats but do not take lightly anyone ridiculing Pakistan under flimsy pretexts. That is inexcusable and should have legal consequences.

Dear Baseer Sahib,

This  is not shocking news for me as we can expect such kind of reaction from these confused mind people, who do not understand even what realy means to be a journalist. This is a mindset very easily available around and well supported by those who are suppose to keep a check on these kind of terrorist mind people.

Anyways, we share your thoughts and ideas and stand united with you and will do whatever is necessary. Baseer Sahib, you are a way forward for all of us and your safety and security is very important. Stay safe and best regards. Samson

Dear Baseer,

it was indeed a true reflection of our ideas while reading your article on "Stupidity on Ideology of Pakistan". However, it was really painful to read the threatening email of a journalist. Being a citizen journalist, i would say that mainstream media personals should take immediate action against this shameless person as i am not quoting him as "Journalist" as it is below the dignity of Journalism to call these mentally sick people Journalists. They are actually suffering from Zia's islamicphobia so do not bother about them.

I am going to write to the high-ups of all the mainstream media personals regarding this issue.

Much regards,

Abdullah Dayo

Shame on this journalist. I think PFUJ and Press clubs should take note of this. His license should be re-examined for revocation by licensing agencies if there are any in the country. I think his abusive tirade and threats should be brought to the notice of the world press.

Baseer Naveed;- You are indeed an established bastard who is ridiculing Pakistan while seated with English bastards of Chinese origin; can you or other minions like you could ever question the creation of the state of Hong Kong ; if you are damn opposed to the religion of Islam who stops you to become a Christian or a follower of the Buddhism; I wish Hong Kong could invent a time machine and take you to the past where you could marry your mother with an English man and then you could take rebirth as a Douglass, David or Jacob; while reliant on the charities of the anti Islam forces third rated minions like you cannot challenge the ideology of this country and indeed you are to be punished one day for having breached our patriotic sentiments or God willing I would locate you one day and teach you such a terrible lesson on abusing our motherland that dwellers of Hong Kong would remember it for long.
