Dear All,
The Indigenous Fellowship Programme was launched in 1997 by the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in the context of the first International Decade of the World's Indigenous People. The aim of the programme is to give indigenous persons the opportunity to gain knowledge on the UN system and mechanisms dealing with human rights issues in general and indigenous issues in particular. Trained participants are better equipped to assist their organisations and communities in protecting and promoting their rights. This training programme is available in 4 languages: English, Spanish, French and Russian.
Please note that the new deadline to receive applications for the 2014 Indigenous Fellowship Programme is: 5 May 2013.
We strongly encourage you to send your applications (by post, email or fax) well before the deadline.

El Programa de Becas para representantes indígenas fue iniciado en 1997 por la Oficina del Alto Comisionado de las Naciones Unidas para los Derechos Humanos (OACNUDH) en el contexto del primer Decenio Internacional de las Poblaciones Indígenas. El objetivo de este programa es dar la oportunidad a personas indígenas de conocer el sistema y los mecanismos de derechos humanos de las Naciones Unidas, especialmente aquellos que analizan cuestiones indígenas, con el fin de ayudar a sus organizaciones y comunidades a proteger y promover los derechos de sus respectivos pueblos. Este programa de formación existe en 4 idiomas: Inglés, Español, Francés y Ruso.
La nueva fecha limite para recibir solicitudes para el Programa de Becas para representantes indígenas 2014 es el 5 de mayo de 2013.

Le Programme de bourses pour les représentants autochtones a été lancé en 1997 par le Haut-Commissariat des Nations Unies aux droits de l'homme (HCDH) dans le cadre de la première Décennie internationale des populations autochtones. L'objectif de ce programme de bourses est de donner à des représentants autochtones la possibilité de se familiariser avec le système et les mécanismes des Nations Unies relatifs aux droits de l'homme en général et plus spécifiquement aux droits des peuples autochtones. L'objectif du programme étant que les personnes formées puissent assister leurs communautés et organisations respectives à promouvoir et protéger les droits de leurs peuples. Ce programme de formation existe en 4 langues: anglais, espagnol, français et russe.
La nouvelle date limite de réception des candidatures pour le programme de bourses pour les représentants autochtones de 2014, est le 5 mai 2013.
