Job Title: Technical Writer
Location: Holmdel, NJ

Duration: 3 Months

 

Job Summary 
The Technical Writer creates, edits and proofreads documents, diagrams, presentations, guidelines, policy statements and all technical documentation as needed. 

Essential Job Functions 

§ Documents process, procedure and related activities. 
§ Gathers information requirements and data from various departments. 
§ Creates, organizes, writes and edits data into documents and policy/procedure manuals.
§ Posts and edits technical documents on online Wiki and Sharepoint sites
§ Assists in writing and maintaining internal technical procedural documents. 
§ Documents development projects and provides content for internal and external knowledge base. 

Education 

• College degree or equivalent professional experience. Specific Requirements (Technical Knowledge, Software, Etc.) 

§ Must be knowledgeable of software development life cycle (SDLC). 
§ Must have skills with MS Word, Visio, Open Office, PowerPoint, and other graphics and publishing tools. 
§ 2-3 years technical writing experience. 
§ Ability to execute on entire documentation life cycle. 
§ Must have ability to work in a fast pace environment. 
§ Must have excellent communication and organizational skills, display a rigorous work ethic and possess initiative and independent thinking. 

Additional Skills (would like to have but not required) 
§ Knowledgeable in areas of voice, telecom, computers, Internet, VOIP, etc. 
§ General knowledge of web programming (HTML) methods 
§ Dreamweaver and graphics software a plus.
