Title: Network Engineer

Location: Charleston, SC

Duration: 6+ Months

 

Description:

Responsibilities:

• Design, configure, implement and provide training for Novell's ZCM patch management system.
• Determine system requirements and create, configure, and deploy virtual servers needed to support the implementation of the patch management system.
• Identify backup needs for the patch management system and coordinate with the district's backup engineer to insure the reliable service can be provided to our customers.                                            
• Develop installation packages for MS Windows workstation system and additional supported software packages.
• Perform assessments, installations, and configuration of server hardware/software as required.
• Monitor and maintain the CCSD patch management system

 

Qualifications:

Required Skills (rank in order of Importance):

• Thorough knowledge of the implementation, configuration, administration, and support of Novell's Patch Management.
• Experience managing and maintaining patch management systems.
• Understanding of how MS Windows workstations and laptops can be patched/updated in an enterprise environment that has numerous roaming users.
• Perform scripting as needed to support the patch management system

Preferred Skills (rank in order of Importance):

• Experience VMware in an enterprise environment.
• Experience deploying applications and workstation management packages using scripting and ZCM applications.
• Attention to detail; strong interpersonal skills; oral communication skills and experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

Required Education:

Associates Degree in Networking Technology or related field
