Lahore (Thursday, November 29, 2012 ) – Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has vowed to provide 20,000 helmets free of cost or for just one rupee each across the province of Punjab. Punjab Chief Minister said in his address that there are laws for everything in the province but a lot needs to be done for implementation of those. He promised to enforce laws to protect costly lives and avoid lethal accidents in the province.
Shahbaz Sharif distributed helmets amongst the Rescue 1122 staff and boarded on a motor-bike with a helmet fixed on head.
He announced on the occasion to provide 20,000 helmets free or for just one rupee each in Punjab for motor-bike riders' security.--

He also said that the Punjab government was launching a programme to provide free helmets to the deserving youth the province. In the first phase of this programme, he said, around 20,000 helmets would be distributed.
