Remember private channels took birth after year 2000.how can anyone have twenty years' experience when TV channels were allowed only thirteen years ago.
It is also learnt that present secretary information agha anadem is not allowing acting md Qazi Mustafa to implement Islamabad high court's orders in letter and spirit. He is especially protecting Ghulam Mohsin Goraya front man of Taimur Azmat Osman, former secretary information and now of present secretary information. Instead of being kicked out Ghulam Mohsin Goraya has recently been assigned new position of chief coordinator which actually does not exist in PTV's service structure. Acting MD in hope of elevation to regular md is playing in the hands of secretary information and issuing illegal orders .other than Goraya there are many others who were illegally appointed by YBM and instead of being terminated they are continuing in their respective positions. It is also learnt that Ashraf Malkham is also trying to find a way back in PTV .A "glass fellow" of secretary Taimur Azmat was inducted in ptv in violation of all rules and regulations by ybm on instruction of former minister Kaira. Ashraf Malkham used to get twenty thousand salaries in geo and in PTV he was given salary in lacs. moreover from reporting he was elevated to position of chief editor also gaining unprecedented raise in salary he last salary being four laces fifty thousand plus. He is the same Muhammad Ashraf whose boarding lodging on personal stay in PC Bhurban was managed by Taimur Azmat from secret fund. He was also paid additional four lac RS from secret fund as mentioned in list presented in Supreme Court of Pakistan.
There are many other gross irregularities done by ex md YBM and present secretary y information.
It is hoped that secretary information and acting md will be held in contempt for not implementing orders of high court.
PTV has sought application for a new Managing Director (MD). This is after the earlier MD, Yousaf Beg Mirza, was thrown out under the Supreme Court scripture that his appointment was not lawful.

The criterion set for the new appointment seems tailor-made for a specific person. It's dubious, if not amusing. First, the age for the candidate has been specified between 45 and 57. Why, one may ask. If we can have the Prime Minister at the age of 35, why not the MD. Second, the criterion mentions a 20-experience in governance, management, financial management and marketing. How about experience in news and current affairs as the mere degree in mass communication should not be enough; why is broadcasting experience not mentioned—after all the person need to run a broadcast station; what about the experience of drama, music and arts that bring the PTV its maximum revenue; why should law and engineering degrees be more important than the television experience.
It's the first time that a criterion is being set for the selection of an MD, otherwise the post was always filled by discretion. Will someone have a better criterion and then a specialized board, not selective bureaucrats who want to hire an aunt, a friend or a colleague. So far, the criterion seems cut out for somebody.
